In recent years, disinfection using UV-radiation has gained importance, for drink water especially. Our yearlong, scientific expertise in this field came in handy to set requirements for save usage.
As a big step forward in quality assurance, we developed the biodosimetric method, which measures the microbicidal effective, reduction-equivalent radiation of UV-devices.
Our works regarding UV-inactivation are apllied on a lab scale as well as in full scale.
Inactivation of microorganisms via UV-radiation in the lab
For the examination of UV-sensitivity of microorganisms (water-transmissible pathogenic bacteria, viruses and protozoa as well as indicator organisms), a whole lab is available, including a radiation device designed especially this kind of analytics, equipment for photoreactivation and a flow system that guarantees exact and controllable experimental conditions.
Testing and validation of water disinfection procedures in pilot and full scale
For examinations of this kind, an internationally accredited tes body has been established to be able to conduct biodosimetric measures of UV-disinfection devices together with international porject partners and manufacturers alike.
For this field of expertise, the UV-Team Austria, an interdisciplinary cooperation with the following partners has been established:
