Our main emphasis is the topic "Water and Human Health". To foster our holistic approach, we established a conglomerate of basic and applied research, teaching, professional advice and support for hospitals, water suppliers, and companies as well as transferal of our findings into standards and norms.
To be able to fullfill our duties in a national and international context, a civil accredited test- and inspection body, Water Hygiene (ISO 17020; ISO 17025) has been established. This way, it is possible to do water-hygienic inspections on site, monitor, take samples, do analytics and create certificates according to § 73 Lebensmittelsicherheits- und Verbraucherschutzgesetz (LMSVG).
For testing and validation of water disinfection procedures, especially for devices for radiation treatment in pilot- and full-scale, the Wasser-Technikum Wiental und das UV-Team Austria were founded in 2010.
