AG Tumorpathologie

Arbeitsgruppe Tumorpathologie

Ziel der Forschungsgruppe Tumorpathologie ist es, zelluläre und molekulare Mechanismen zu verstehen und aufzudecken, die bei der Prävention und Pathogenese von Darmkrebs und anderen chronischen oder bösartigen Erkrankungen eine Rolle spielen. In diesem Prozess untersuchen wir auch die Rolle von Vitamin D und Kalzium in der Nahrung .

Eine weitere Hauptaufgabe besteht darin, Student:innen vor und nach dem Studium zu hervorragenden Wissenschaftler:innen in der biologischen und experimentellen medizinischen Forschung auszubilden.

Derzeitige Forschungsschwerpunkte:

  1. Untersuchen von kalziumabhängigen molekularen Antitumormechanismen
  2. Rolle des Calcium-Sensing-Rezeptors (CaSR) bei der kolorektalen Karzinogenese
  3. Identifizieren von genetischen und epigenetischen Mechanismen, die die Wirkung von Kalzium und Vitamin D bei der Tumorentstehung regulieren
  4. Untersuchen des Vitamin-D-Systems als physiologische Abwehr gegen die Tumorprogression
  5. Einfluss des Vitamin-D-abbauenden Enzyms 25-Hydroxyvitamin-D-24-Hydroxylase auf die Kolontumorentstehung
  6. Orts- und geschlechtsspezifische Entwicklung von kolorektalen Tumoren
